Skydiving is not a terrifying experience for the amateur with hundreds of jumps on his or her log, and certainly is not terrifying for the professional who goes to the freefall zone each day like some of us go to the office or the factory. But for the newcomer, it is extremely difficult to jump out of an airplane (a safe place) and put your health in the hands of an instructor and a parachute.
